Recently I've been posting a lot of my stuff to my new(ish) blog over at www.mindflight.me

It's not that new, but I've only recently started working on it more seriously. A lot of art will probably be appearing there before it appears here, so hop on over! I'd love to see some familiar faces over there! I also share other creative projects there, other than my drawing, such as calligraphy and the odd craft project :)

Hi everyone, I've been pretty inactive here recently, as I've been busy trying to set up as a freelance graphics and webdesigner to support myself.

Now I've opened an Etsy store for all you bloggers out there, where I offer beautiful responsive templates that'll  let your blog look good at all sizes (PC, tablet, mobile) and inject it with a bit of design-personality :)

Just some prompts for generating more creativity in life. Or finding some inspiration when your stumped.

  • Keep a notebook. For ideas. For dreams. For lists. For journaling. For anything.
  • Keep a sketchbook. For doodling. For exploring. For capturing memories. For playing.
  • Write your own autobiography. Just for fun.
  • Write three pages of whatever comes into your head. Do it regularly. Do it every morning to clear your head.
  • Go on a reading fast. A television fast. An internet fast. See how long you can go without.
  • Make a list of 20 – 30 things you enjoyed doing when you were younger. Do them.
  • List 5 alternative lives. What would you be? A dancer? A monk? A scooba-diver? An explorer? A rockstar? Can you incorporate something from those lives into yours?
  • Write letters. Real ones. By hand. Embellish them. Doodle on them. Add little trinkets. Make your own cards.
  • Draw or write with your left hand. Or your right if you're left-handed.
  • Cultivate ambidexterity.
  • Make a mini-book about something. Ten things you like. Ten people you love. Ten important lists. Anything.
  • Call an old friend.
  • Make a new friend.
  • Take a different route to work/school/university every day.
  • Stay up all night.
  • Sleep all day.
  • Fulfill a childhood dream.
  • Create a list of 101 things you'd like to do before you die. (Bucket list.)
  • Learn to read upside down.
  • Read and write mirror writing.
  • Learn something new. A craft. A skill. A language. An instrument.
  • Make lists.
  • Bake your own bread.
  • Cook a new dish.

Feel free to share yours in the comments :) I'd love to hear them.

... and it's haaaaaard. xD

But it's slowly getting better. I'm trying to experiment more with different media and loosen up a bit about my art. I've been practically artistically paralyzed recently and getting back into drawing is an almost painful experience...

I've filled a sketchpad in under two months, which I haven't managed in a looooooong time. I've also bought myself a new travel skechbook so I can carry it around even if I've only got a small bag on me... Hope to be sketching more...

I'm trying - I'm trying...

I'm also reading Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain by Betty Edwards at the moment, and it's a pretty fascinating read. I'm starting to actually understand what goes on in my brain when I draw :) Really interesting. It's geared towards people with little to no drawing experience and teaches them to draw from life. I kept hearing about it, and though I'm no beginner, I decided to get myself a copy to go over some basics again, as I'm generally interested in the workings behind creativity and art and hoped to pick up a few pointers :)

Oh yeah:

Check out Getwatchers to expose your artwork more. :)
It's a pretty cool system actually. You get more views to your Deviations the more deviations of other people you view. Commenting faving and watching brings you bonus points :) So the more active and helpful you are, the more points you get. It's a pretty clever system actually. Go check it out if your work is underexposed :)

Not dead. Gosh, is it really that long ago I wrote something here?!
And I haven't posted for a while either. Hope that'll change in the new year :)

Hope you're all doing great :D

Wishing you all a great Christmas and a Happy New Year <3

This is a really great and easy system to get your artworks exposed.

It's part of the Deviantartgroup GetWatchers, but it's actually more than just a group.

Go to the link below,

www.getwatchers.com/?refby=618…

upload your artworks and get going. You view other people's artwork through their artviewer and earn credits for doing so. Then your art is displayed to other people in their artviewer. The more credits you earn by viewing other people's art, the more views you get on your uploaded Deviations. It's a really cool system and I've already got quite a few new views through it.

I highly recommend you try this out if you want to get more Deviation views, pageviews, watches and favs.
You also find some great new artworks of people you might have missed otherwise :)

Soooo... I was thinking of making prints, buttons and bookmarks available of my Ugly Ducklings character.
Would anyone be interested in something like that? I'd try and make them affordable :)

Hullo everyone! Hope you all had a great start into the New Year!

So what were your new year's resolutions? Got any art related ones?

Here are some of mine, not really in any particular order.:

1. Improve artistically
2. Make money (preferably off my art :))
3. Spend more time with friends, contact those I barely see more frequently
4. Live more creatively.... draw more, make more, cut more, stick more, cook more, bake more, create more :)
5. Draw something, no matter how small, every day.
6. Figure out what I want out of life...

Let's see how it goes ^^

Love you lots!

So since about a year ago I've finally managed to get some colour into my work and I've started experimenting with different media. ^^ And having lots of fun with it.

My recent work has a base of watercolour crayons, which I then go over with Polychromos Crayons to smooth the gradient, then I colour with Polychromos and finally add some highlights with glittery gelpens, which sadly don't come out in the scan. But they're fun ^^

However in the past I've also experimented with drawing with coffee (fav.me/d2be7pu) and tea, I've used a wash of watercolours with a sprinkle of salt to get some very interesting textures. (fav.me/d29im23)

So I was wondering...

Do you have any interesting ideas for experimenting? Or new media to try? Stuff you like to do?

Please share your ideas and experiences, I'd love to hear them :D

...need to revamp my gallery or something...

I keep toying with the idea of deleting everything and reuploading what I like, or putting stuff into storage... or even starting a new account. I'm really in two minds about all this... any suggestions/opinions?

I really feel like a fresh start would do me good, but I'm also worried about it a bit XD

Sorry for the month of silence XD
Things have gotten a little stressful recently, various things going on, school work and also I'll be changing schools in a month, so I've been backwards and forwards sorting stuff out there too XD
Also, I've got a cold at the moment, wooohooo.

I've just uploaded my 100th deviation, a poster for the local "Kinderkonzert". I've been doing their posters now for the past 3 years. This year it was Peter and the Wolf. (I actually always hated that story. I always wanted the wolf to win XD).

Hope you're all fine, hope to upload some more art soon :)
